IMPRS-QST Seminar Series
Group visit at the chair of experimental solid state physics - quantum materials
Talk by Matthew Yankowitz, University of Washington
June 30, 2023
The IMPRS-QST Seminar Series is a dynamic and engaging initiative organized by the students of the International Max Planck Research School for Quantum Science and Technology (IMPRS-QST). This series features a variety of talks and activities designed to complement and enrich the training program of the graduate school.
This year’s edition is organized as a visit to Dimitri Efetov's group at the chair of experimental solid state physics - quantum materials. His research focuses on Moiré materials, where one can stack 2D materials to engineer desired quantum systems, probably the most famous example is the superconductivity observed in twisted bilayer graphene.
During the visit, we will attend a talk by Matthew Yankowitz from the University of Washington, an external speaker currently visiting the group. His presentation will focus on “Plethora of Many-Body Ground States in Magic Angle Twisted Bilayer Graphene”.
